The MBA specialization in accounting will expand your knowledge in areas such as budget planning and control, audit and evaluation of controls, and the nature and function of accounting information in the decision-making process. This program will build the strategic perspective you need to interact effectively with executive management and strengthen your ability to succeed in middle and senior management positions. This program can be completed in two years.

Admission to the accounting specialization requires that learners complete and submit the School of Business and Technology Certification of Accounting Experience form. Capella University does not guarantee that the MBA with a specialization in accounting, on its own, will provide learners with the educational requirements necessary to be eligible to sit for the CPA examination or other professional licensures. Learners are encouraged to contact their state boards of accountancy for requirements in their state.

College Teaching Post-Master's Certificate
Our online certificate programs meet the same high academic standards as our online degree programs. Graduate certificates are an ideal way to update your skills or pursue focused knowledge in a new area of interest. If you pursue the Capella University master's or doctoral degree in the discipline associated with your certificate program, your certificate credits may count toward your new degree.

The post-master's certificate in college teaching is designed to assist college-level academic subject experts in mastering instructional skills, including the ability to teach effectively online. This specialization prepares experts to excel as teachers by acquiring knowledge of learning theory, educational philosophy, classroom assessment, and course design; and by developing essential instructional skills. Graduate certificate credits can be applied toward our PhD program.

Residency Requirements: One week colloquium session (Track I)
